Here We Go Again…Another Postal Rate Increase!

Here we go again. The cost of postage continues to rise and the trend shows no signs of slowing soon. Fighting to survive a deepening financial crisis, the Postal Service wants to increase the price of first-class mail by 2 cents – to 46 cents –starting in January. Other postage costs will rise as well.
Postage rates have increased exponentially recent years; nearly 30 percent since 2001. This increasing pressure will be significant and organizations stand to lose millions in postal savings if they fail to comply with ever-changing USPS regulations.
One way to sidestep postal rates altogether is to deliver statements electronically. And not only can it cost significantly less money to send a bill electronically, the inherent ease and convenience of an online environment can be even more profitable for companies who go paperless. A customer viewing an online statement is potentially only a click away from purchasing additional products or upgrading their service. By virtue being “hyperlinked” customers are more likely to surf along with trans-promotional cross selling and up selling efforts.
If you have considered moving your customer statements to an online in the past, now may be a good time to reconsider how Statement2Web can assist in making your strategy a reality.
